After more than 21 years of training in a variety of Martial Arts styles, I realized that, although I owe a great deal of gratitude to my instructors and mentors, a good part of what I’ve learned, would not work to my benefit, in a real world scenario act of street aggression. It was at this time, I turned my knowledge of many years of training and teaching, into the effective system of “Street Smart Self Defense”. Founding this system did not involve “re-inventing” the techniques. It was a matter of selecting the most realistic, effective and practical ones, reconstructing others and then combining and arranging these techniques into a no-nonsense program of personal self-defense
Street Smart Self Defense is not like a “traditional” method of Martial Arts. These are a series of techniques that are designed to be quite simple, yet effective in a street attack atmosphere. There are no forms, combinations, workout, aerobic exercise, sparring, uniforms or any traditional customs of most Martial Arts systems. Simply put, this course will teach you to protect yourself and loved ones, in quick and easily executed movements, by redirecting the assailant’s aggression and power, back toward them, with little effort and minimum force on your part. The kicks included in the system of Street Smart Self Defense target the vulnerable parts of the body, located below the belt. For example the knee, thigh, hip and groin. There are no unproductive acrobatic kicks involved.
The essence of Street Smart Self Defense is pure “Self-Defense”. It is the synthesis of dynamic concepts, realistic applications and plain common sense. Street Smart Self Defense is ideal for those individuals (for example, many woman, teenagers, busy professionals and law or security personnel) who do not have the time, desire, funds or ability to commit to the demanding study of a traditional Martial Arts studio. This method will give you the confidence and abilities of protection in a matter of weeks, not years and in the comfort of your own home or office.
I have developed a method that can be used by anyone, regardless of your athletic ability. Most of the Street Smart Self Defense techniques rely on common sense, obvious choices of movement and the knowledge of the effective weapons your body naturally consists of. The learning of this system is broken down into three levels. Basics, Intermediate and Advanced, covering a wide variety of lessons, ranging from escapes from a non-life threatening attack, to defense against weapons such as a knife, stick or Gun. The one-time seminars are a quick and easy way to develop basic skills to allow you the confidence needed for everyday life.
